God is in Control
“You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people.” - Genesis 50:20
What are you worried about? We discussed a quote yesterday that says, “What you fear the most often reveals where you trust God the least.” You cannot both fully trust God and be worried. It just doesn’t work that way.
When we are worried, what we are actually worried about is the outcome of how things are going to turn out. We have a bad habit of worrying about outcomes that are likely never to happen. But the reason we worry is because we understand that we do not have control.
Some people live with false confidence in their own selves that they have control over outcomes that they, quite frankly, have no control over. Now, God might work things out as those people wish, but it is not by their own doing.
When we worry, we realize that we are not in control. But that does not mean we should be worried because you know who IS in control. Your Heavenly Father controls all things. He created all things, and He is in control of all things.
Genesis 50:20 tells us, “You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people.”
This means that even when the world tries to harm us or do evil things against us, God works all things for good because HE IS IN CONTROL.
Oftentimes worry comes because we shift from believing we can control an outcome to the realization that we have no control. The problem is you never had control to begin with. Everything that has happened, is happening, and will happen is because God orchestrated or allowed it to happen.
You have no need to worry. It might seem easier said than done, but when you realize who is in control, and then you realize how much He loves you, you will see how silly it is to ever worry. God’s got you. And He is working all things for your good!
