Give to God Confidently
“They still kept bringing him freewill offerings every morning.” - Exodus 36:3
When the Israelites gave to God, they didn’t question where their offerings were going or debate how the resources were being used. They gave confidently, not only out of love and respect for God, but also because they trusted the integrity of the leadership.
The leaders managed the resources so well that when the skilled workers said they had more than enough, the leadership told the people to stop giving! No one hoarded extra for themselves. The people could give freely because they trusted those in charge.
Today, many people hesitate to give because they wonder how the money will be managed. There’s no doubt that financial mismanagement in some churches has led to suspicion and doubt. But the Israelites didn’t have that issue because they trusted their leaders and, more importantly, they trusted the God who provided for them.
God asked these formerly enslaved people to bring offerings of gold, silver, and other valuable resources—things they didn’t seem to have on their own. But the Israelites could give confidently because they knew God had provided before, and He would provide again.
After 430 years of slavery, they didn’t leave Egypt empty-handed. They left with flocks, herds, silver, and gold—provisions God had ensured they would have. Throughout their journey, God fed them daily with manna and quail, and He took care of all their needs.
When it was time to give, the Israelites didn’t worry about running out. They knew that the same God who provided for them yesterday would provide for them again today. That’s the confidence we need when we give.
When we trust God with our giving, He will never disappoint. God’s “dividends” never fail, and He always provides for His people. Giving confidently reflects our trust that God, who blessed us before, will continue to bless us abundantly.
