Consistent in Our Support
“They still kept bringing him freewill offerings every morning.” - Exodus 36:3
Imagine waking up each day with God’s work on your heart, so much so that you give willingly and consistently, without needing reminders or guilt trips. That’s exactly what the Israelites did when they supported the construction of the sanctuary. They didn’t wait for a Sabbath service or a special campaign. They gave every day, out of their own conviction and desire to further God’s work.
This daily giving shows a powerful truth: consistent support matters. The people didn’t give once and move on. They were so moved by the opportunity to contribute to God’s plans that they kept bringing their offerings, day after day.
What’s even more incredible is that they didn’t need to be pushed or begged. Moses didn’t have to guilt them into action. Their hearts were already aligned with God’s will, and their consistent giving flowed naturally from that alignment.
In today’s world, it’s easy to push things like giving and stewardship to the back burner. We often wait for a special occasion or an emotional moment to give, but the Israelites’ example shows us something different. They didn’t wait—they acted daily, with purpose.
This kind of commitment is exactly what’s needed in the church today. When we put God first in our faith and finances, we are not just supporting a ministry; we’re declaring our trust in His provision.
There’s a story about a man who saved every paycheck, putting money under his mattress. As he was dying, he made his wife promise to bury him with all his savings. When he passed, she honored his wish—by writing him a check and putting it in the casket! While it’s humorous, the story reminds us that hoarding or holding back from God ultimately benefits no one.
So, let’s be consistent in our support for God’s work. When we give regularly and generously, we participate in something bigger than ourselves, showing our trust in a God who always provides more than enough.
