Let’s Be Consistent in Our Support
"Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your produce" – Proverbs 3:9
In Exodus 35, we find something powerful tucked into the story of the people building the tabernacle. Scripture tells us that the people brought their offerings every single morning. They did not wait for a special moment. They did not hold back until a formal gathering. Day by day, they supported the work of the Lord because their hearts were already convinced of its value.
There is something special about that kind of consistency. These people did not give because of manipulation or guilt. They were not pushed or pressured. They gave because they wanted to. Their hearts were moved, and their hands followed. Moses never had to beg. The people gave freely and regularly because they believed in the mission.
This is the kind of support the church still needs today. Not occasional or emotional giving. Not delayed generosity waiting for a perfect moment. But people who are consistent in their commitment. People who wake up each day with God’s house and God’s heart on their minds.
There is a story about a man who spent his whole life stashing money under his mattress. On his deathbed, he made his wife promise to put the money in his casket. She agreed. After he died, she took the money to the bank, deposited it, and wrote him a check to place in the casket. While it is a funny story, it reminds us that the impact of what we give does not last if we are always saving it for later.
The people in Exodus gave with confidence because they trusted that what they were sowing was sacred. They gave consistently because they believed the need was ongoing. They gave from the heart because they knew what they were building mattered. And so do we. The future of ministry depends on people like you who believe in the work and stay faithful in their support.
