Honoring Your Temple
"Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies." - 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
Today, I want to challenge you. I want to challenge you to reconsider the way you view and treat prayer, particularly when it comes to seeking healing. Too often, we fall into the trap of using prayer as a means to shift the responsibility of caring for our bodies onto God. But let me ask you this: Is this truly honoring to the One who crafted you intricately and intentionally?
See, Your body is not an afterthought in God's redemptive plan; it's a central feature, intricately woven into His design for your life.
Just look at the weight of the words penned by the apostle Paul: "Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies."
Your body is a sacred dwelling place of the Holy Spirit—a vessel through which God's presence resides. Yet, how often do we neglect this truth, treating our bodies carelessly or even harmfully? How often do we indulge in habits that compromise our physical, mental, and spiritual well-being?
It's time to awaken to the reality of your responsibility in caring for the temple of the Holy Spirit. Your health and vitality are not solely God's concern; they are yours as well. It's a partnership—a collaboration between divine grace and human effort.
I challenge you to see the care of your body as an act of worship—a tangible expression of gratitude for the gift of life given to you. Let this be a turning point in your journey. Begin to honor God with your body, not out of obligation, but out of a deep love and reverence for the One who first loved you. For in doing so, we not only honor God, but we also experience the abundant life He desires for us.
