Worth the Fight
"When Abram heard that his kinsman had been taken captive, he led forth his trained men, born in his house, 318 of them, and went in pursuit as far as Dan." – Genesis 14:14
Before Abram picked up a sword, before he strategized a rescue, before he risked everything to chase after what was taken, he had to make one simple but powerful decision. He had to decide that Lot was worth fighting for.
Lot was not just his nephew. He was family. He was part of the promise. When God told Abram that He would bless his family and use them to bless the world, Lot was included in that word. So when the enemy came and snatched Lot, Abram did not hesitate. He did not overthink it. He did not waste time blaming Lot or trying to figure out whose fault it was. He just moved.
You cannot recover what you are unwilling to fight for. And you will never fight for something if you do not believe it matters. That is what makes this so personal. Because maybe God has spoken something over your life. Maybe there is a calling, a dream, a relationship, or a level of peace that once belonged to you. And then, it got taken. Life happened. Storms came. The enemy came in and robbed you of something sacred. And now you are sitting here wondering if it is too far gone. But here is the question that matters most right now. Do you believe it is worth the fight?
Abram could have stayed in the comfort of his camp. He could have convinced himself it was not worth the risk. But love does not quit. Conviction does not quit. And people who understand what is at stake do not back down from the battle. They move. They act. They fight.
If something has been taken from you, you have a decision to make. You can stay in the pain, or you can step into the pursuit. You can rehearse all the reasons it went wrong, or you can believe that God is still able to help you recover what the enemy stole. The promise is still alive. The calling still stands. But it will require faith. And it will require a fight.
The question is, do you believe it is worth it?
