Anything is Possible
“But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not be faint.” - Isaiah 40:31
While the world tells us not to get our hopes up too high, it seems that a careful and close examination of God’s Word suggests that God wants us to do just the opposite. He wants us to get our hopes up.
He says in Isaiah 40:31, “But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not be faint.”
He also says in Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
Hope is not something that we stumble upon accidentally or incidentally. One writer said, “Once you choose hope, anything is possible.” That was interesting to me. He said that hope doesn’t just fall into our laps. It is not something that is just bestowed upon a certain group of people.
Hope is something we must choose. It is a kind of sacred determination to see things differently. It is a radical refusal to let what IS dictate and determine what CAN BE. Hope subordinates fear and doubt to a vision and a picture of what can be despite what is.
You can choose hope. And when you do, anything is possible. But hope will not fall into your lap. You have a decision to make; are you going to continue to look at things only as they currently appear? Or are you going to hope for things that are unseen?
Your future might just be determined by the hope you have, because when you have hope, anything is possible!
