Never Fall
“The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in Him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with His hand.” - Psalm 37:23-24
Over the last three days, we have looked at the things we must understand if we are going to allow God to write a new chapter in our lives. If we decide that we have finally had enough, and we are going to walk away from the chapter of our past and into the life future that God has planned for us, there are things we must recognize.
As we discussed, that means we must refocus our attention on Him, allow Him to be our defense, and understand that He is the one that determines our future. And as He leads us into this next chapter, there is something you must understand: you WILL mess up.
Just because you decide to take the steps to allow God to change your life and rewrite your story does not mean that you will become perfect. You will still struggle with the same bad habits, the same bad thoughts, and the same sinful desires you have previously struggled with.
And that is okay. We don’t want to intentionally sin or neglect when we do wrong. But none of us are perfect. What is important is that you understand one sin doesn’t erase you progress. One sin is not enough for you to throw in the towel and return to your unrestrained ways.
Psalm 37:23-24 says, “The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in Him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with His hand.”
Did you catch that? In this life, you will stumble. You will mess up, and you will trip up from time to time. But that does not mean God will allow you to fall. When you are obedient to His calling, even when you stumble, you will not fall.
He will catch you. God will never let you fall. Keep trusting Him. Keep obeying Him. And allow Him to change you one day at a time.
