God’s Track Record
“Not a single one of all the good promises the Lord has given to the family of Israel was left unfulfilled; everything He had spoken came true.” - Joshua 21:45
When believers are convinced of the presence of God and the character of God, they can focus on God’s track record. The psalmist in Psalm 46 goes on to say that resilience in life comes when you focus on content over your context.
The author writes, “we will not fear, though the earth should change, though the mountains shake amid the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble with its tumult we will not fear” (Psalm 46:2-3). The psalmist is informing them that what is going on around them does not have to dictate what is going on inside of them.
In other words, their context doesn’t have to determine their content. Too many believers become so distracted by their outer circumstances that they forget that what God is doing in them is greater than the trouble surrounding them. The psalmist wants us to know that regardless of what is happening around us, it shouldn’t be able to shake the courage and confidence within them.
Our world is full of fear. We live with a sense of chaos and crisis, in a flurry of anxiety and worry. There is fear all around. If there is one thing the enemy wants to do, it is to sow fear in us. But we can stand on the promises of God.
His track record is undefeated. It says in Joshua 21:45, “Not a single one of all the good promises the Lord has given to the family of Israel was left unfulfilled; everything He had spoken came true.”
The God you serve has a track record that should leave you fearless. He is present with you. His character will always hold you. And His track record assures you that with Him you will come through this. That is all the reason you need to remain resilient!
