God Will Show Up
“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.” - Revelation 3:20
As we discussed yesterday, God is not just “out there somewhere.” He is a personal God who wants a personal relationship with you. Unlike a doctor, when you need God, you do not have to go find Him. He will come to you. However, there is just one caveat: you must invite Him in. God will not force His way in. He wants you to know and understand your need for Him in your life and your situation.
See, God gave you and me free will. He allows us to make our own decisions and thus will not force us to involve Him in any part of our life. Now, that does not mean He does not want to be a part of everything in your life. God wants to (and should) be at the center of your life. When God is at the center, every other area will reflect Him and as a result, you will be in a better place.
God knows your need for Him, but He wants YOU to see your need for Him. When you are ready, God will show up. No matter how bad you have made circumstances on your own, He is always willing and ready to turn things around for good in your life. His Word says so. Romans 8:28 tells us, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
God will show up when you are ready and willing to admit that you need Him. He is your Heavenly Father, and He wants to have that kind of relationship with you. No matter how much you might think you screwed up, you are never too far gone from God’s amazing grace. So, the question is not, “Will He show up?” The question is, “Will you acknowledge that you need Him and be willing to let Him in?”
