You’re Not Meant to Fight Alone
"When Abram heard that his kinsman had been taken captive, he led forth his trained men, born in his house, 318 of them, and went in pursuit as far as Dan." – Genesis 14:14
When Abram lost Lot, he didn’t try to rescue him alone. He had 318 trained men already within his household, ready to move when the time came. That one detail in the story holds more weight than most people realize. It means that when the fight showed up, Abram already had the right people around him. He didn’t have to scramble. He didn’t have to beg for help. He didn’t have to post for backup. He had warriors beside him who believed in the mission and were ready to go to battle with him.
You might have faith. You might love God. But when all hell breaks loose, do you have the right people in your corner? People who can pray with you when you're too tired to pray. People who will fast with you when you're desperate for breakthrough. People who will not just watch you struggle but will step into the fight with you and call on heaven to move.
That is why church matters. That’s why community is not optional. We need each other. This battle we are in is spiritual, and it cannot be won alone. We need people with real weapons. Not fists and arguments, but people who know how to pull down strongholds through prayer and speak life with the Word of God. We need people who know how to believe when we are doubting, who remind us of the promise when we feel like quitting.
Abram had 318. You might only have 3. But make sure they are trained. Make sure they are aligned. Make sure they are ready when the moment comes. You don’t need people who drain you. You need people who carry the weight with you.
No believer is built to fight every battle alone. If Jesus surrounded Himself with disciples, why would you try to go through life without anyone who truly walks with God? The people around you can either be your protection or your downfall. So choose wisely.
Because when the next battle hits, you don’t want to be looking for help. You want to already have it.
