It’s Not That Easy
“When they had preached the gospel to that city and had made many disciples, they returned to Lystra and to Iconium and to Antioch, strengthening the souls of the disciples, encouraging them to continue in the faith, and saying that through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God.” - Acts 14:21-22
God has an amazing plan and purpose for your life. You are very important to God and the advancement of His Kingdom. He wants to use you for His glory. No matter what we have gone through, are going through, or will go through, He helps us prevail because we are that important to Him.
Our story and the victory in that story are important to God. He wants to use our stories to impact others’ lives and draw them closer to Him. But that doesn’t mean that our lives will be easy.
Many believers give their lives to Christ and have a false sense of what the Christian life looks like. They believe that God will take all their problems away, sweep them under a rug, and everything in life will be perfect.
But that is not the case. We still live in a fallen world. We still sin. And we will deal with that sin for the rest of our human lives. Sometimes, it is not even our own sin, but we must deal with the consequences of sin in the lives of those closest to us.
Living for God is not all sunshine and rainbows. You will still face trials, difficulties, and heartbreak. In fact, the Bible assures us of this. Acts 14:21-22 says,
“When they had preached the gospel to that city and had made many disciples, they returned to Lystra and to Iconium and to Antioch, strengthening the souls of the disciples, encouraging them to continue in the faith, and saying that through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God.”
Did you catch that? In order to enter the kingdom of God, we must encounter “many tribulations.” It’s not an easy road, my friend. But through faithful obedience, you will be rewarded. He wants to use you for a special plan and purpose only you can fulfill. The road is difficult, but it’s worth it. Are you still in? Do you still believe?
