The Continuing Journey
"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." - Galatians 6:9
As this month ends, the work of economic justice continues. Paul's encouragement reminds us that this work requires persistence and faith, especially when progress seems slow and opposition seems strong.
Working for systemic change is marathon work, not sprint work. It requires sustained engagement over years and decades, maintaining hope even when setbacks occur. The harvest of justice may not come quickly, but it will come if we don't give up.
Take time today to rest and renew your commitment to this calling. Connect with others who share this vision. Celebrate small victories while preparing for continued engagement. Remember that you're part of a movement that spans generations and will ultimately succeed because it reflects God's heart for justice.
The journey continues, but you don't walk alone. God walks with you, and so do countless others who share the vision of economic systems that serve all God's children.
Prayer:
God of persistence, renew my strength for the continuing work of economic justice. Help me not grow weary in doing good, trusting that the harvest will come. Amen.
