Patience In The Process
"So let us not grow weary in doing what is right, for we will reap at harvest time, if we do not give up.” - Galatians 6:9
Working for justice and systemic change requires patience and persistence. The harvest of our efforts may not come quickly, but faithful action over time creates lasting transformation.
Patience in this work means embracing the uncomfortable reality that real progress often takes years, even generations. It invites us to trust God's timing rather than demand immediate results, and to celebrate small steps as meaningful victories along the way. By remaining steadfast, we help to build the kind of deep roots that can withstand setbacks and nourish true, enduring change—not just for ourselves, but for those who will come after us. In trusting the gradual process, we also give God space to work in ways we cannot anticipate, multiplying our efforts beyond what we could accomplish alone.
Even when progress seems slow or the road ahead feels uncertain, remember that God honors every step you take in faith. Your willingness to persevere, even in the face of difficulty or disappointment, builds both your character and the foundations for lasting change in the world around you. Trust that no act of patient obedience is wasted; in God's timing, your steadfast work will yield fruit that blesses both you and generations to come. Keep moving forward with hope, knowing that your patience is powerful and precious in God's eyes.
Your consistent efforts for justice are like seeds planted in good soil. Trust that God will bring the harvest in His perfect timing.
If you're feeling discouraged about slow progress in an area of advocacy or service, recommit this week to patient persistence. Celebrate small victories and trust the process.
Prayer:
Lord, give us patience in the work of justice and change. Help us not grow weary in doing good, trusting that You will bring the harvest in due time. Amen.
