Seeing From God’s View Instead of the World’s View
“Those who look to him are radiant. Their faces shall never be ashamed.” - Psalm 34:5
There are times in life when all you can see is what is right in front of you. You see the problem. You see the pressure. You see the part of the story that hurts. When that happens, it is easy to draw conclusions based on what your eyes can measure. But God never intended for you to live only by what you see. He invites you to lift your gaze so you can see your situation through His view instead of the world’s view.
The world teaches you to focus on what is missing. God teaches you to focus on who is present. The world trains your eyes to search for the negative. God trains your heart to search for His hand. Gratitude becomes the bridge between what you see and what God sees. When you thank Him, even in moments that feel confusing, your eyes begin to rise above the surface of your struggle.
Gratitude shifts your perspective. You stop staring at the closed door long enough to notice the strength He has been giving you while you wait. You stop replaying every worry and begin to see the quiet ways God has been carrying you. You stop assuming the worst and start remembering that God is already ahead of you, working in places you cannot see yet.
Think of it like walking up a hill. At the bottom, your view is limited. You only see the obstacles. As you climb higher, the picture changes. You notice details you could not see before. That is what gratitude does. Every time you thank God, it lifts you a little higher. It gives you clarity in a place that once felt foggy.
You may not understand everything you are facing right now. You may not see how God is going to work it out. But thanksgiving keeps your heart aligned with His view. It reminds you that your story is bigger than this moment. It helps you trust that God sees the entire path even when you see only one step.
Today, choose to look up. Thank God for His presence. And thank Him for seeing the full picture when you can only see a piece. When gratitude lifts your eyes, you begin to see from His view instead of the world’s view.
