Stop Running from the Potter
"He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ." - Philippians 1:6
There is something in us that resists being reshaped. We say we want to be healed, transformed, and made new, but when the process starts to press on old wounds or confront our pride, we back away. The very hands that want to shape us feel uncomfortable, so we run. But if healing is what you want, you can’t keep resisting the Potter.
You were not designed to fix yourself. That weight was never yours to carry. The Creator of your soul knows how to mend it. But His work begins where your surrender begins. As long as you keep taking the wheel back, trying to do it your way, and keeping your guard up, you’re not clay in His hands. You’re just hard soil. And hard soil can’t be shaped into anything new.
God is not a surface-level fixer. He goes deep. He reaches into the painful places that you’ve buried and the lies you’ve believed. And it’s not to shame you, but to heal you. Real transformation will stretch you, challenge you, and undo you in all the right ways. It will strip away what’s been holding you back so that you can walk fully in what He’s called you to become.
But none of that can happen if you keep running. You can’t receive healing while clinging to control. You can’t walk in freedom while holding onto fear. If you’re tired of ending up in the same cycles, frustrated with the same brokenness, maybe it’s time to stop resisting and finally surrender.
The Potter knows what He’s doing. He doesn’t waste anything. Not your pain, not your past, not your mistakes. He uses it all. Let Him break what needs to be broken, so He can build what only He can build. Let Him start the deep work, because what He starts, He finishes.
You’ve run long enough. Real healing is waiting. Let God do what only He can do. Trust the hands that formed you in the first place.
