Who's in Your Corner?
"Do not be deceived, bad company ruins good morals" – 1 Corinthians 15:33
When life gets heavy, when the pressure mounts, when you are in a fight for your peace or your purpose, who shows up for you? Who do you call when your faith feels weak or when the weight of everything you’re carrying starts to feel too much?
You might be walking through a season right now where you are realizing that not everyone in your circle is meant to stay in your corner. Some people only show up when it benefits them. Others don’t know how to handle your struggle. And some have no business being in your ear when the battle gets real.
This is where discernment matters. Not everyone can go where God is taking you. Not everyone is equipped to fight with you or speak life into you. Some people drain your energy. Others distract you from your calling. And a few might even be planted by the enemy to keep you from stepping into what God has next.
Abram had 318 trained men who were ready to go into battle with him when his family was under attack. He didn’t have to beg them or convince them. They were already with him. That’s the kind of people you need. People who pray with you. People who know the Word. People who remind you of the promise when you’re tempted to quit.
Take a hard look at your relationships. Who strengthens you? Who sharpens your faith? Who challenges you to grow? And just as important, who pulls you away from what matters most?
You need the right people in your corner, not just when life is good, but when it gets messy. Choose wisely. Let God help you discern. And if you find that your circle needs to get smaller so your future can get stronger, trust that He will send the right ones at the right time. The battle is too big to fight alone. Surround yourself with people who can stand, speak, and believe with you. You’re not just choosing company. You’re choosing victory.
