The Promise Is Greater
"What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?" – Romans 8:31
When Abram found out that his nephew Lot had been taken by enemy kings, he could have assumed the story was over. The opposition was too strong. The loss too great. The situation too far gone. But instead of shrinking back, Abram stepped forward. He went to battle with confidence because he believed something that changed everything. He believed that God’s promise was greater than the enemy’s attack.
That belief shaped his response. It moved him to action. He did not let fear have the final say. He did not treat the enemy’s move as the end of the story. God had already spoken a promise over his life. God said he would become a great nation. God said that all the families of the earth would be blessed through him. And if Lot was part of that promise, then Abram was not about to sit back and let the enemy keep him.
You and I face moments like this, too. The enemy attacks. Something gets taken. Something breaks down. And if we are not careful, we start living like the enemy’s actions have more power than God’s word. But they don’t. God’s promise is still greater. His plan is still good. His presence is still with you.
The enemy wants you to believe that it is too late to recover. Too far gone to rebuild. But God says otherwise. God says He restores what the locusts have eaten. He says He will finish the good work He started in you. So instead of sitting in defeat, what if you moved in faith like Abram did?
There may be something you need to go after today. Peace. Purpose. Someone you love. Whatever the enemy has tried to steal, you do not have to let him keep it. Stand on what God has said. Trust that His promise is bigger than the pain you feel.
The enemy may have made a move, but God has the final word. And His promise still stands.

I was moved by the Holy Spirit to take an action that I have been “attempting” for over 5 years. Every time I tried, I would be so gripped by fear that I would stop. Or I would start to sabotage my goal with negative thoughts of “what if.” But the Holy Spirit told me to do it and He stayed with me until the task was completed. And then I saw your message, which was confirmation! God’s promise for me is too big, too important, too necessary for HIS KINGDOM for me to shrink back. If I know nothing else, I know that I MUST PRESS. Through fear, through distractions, through weakness. They are all attacks to stop me from moving in faith. I already won over the devil when I chose Jesus! I will not allow the enemy to tell me anything different!
Gods promise is bigger than any pain I could ever feel
