Move Before You Understand
"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." - Psalm 119:105
We live in a world obsessed with clarity. We want the full picture, all the answers, and guaranteed outcomes before we make a move. But faith does not work that way. Faith moves first and understands later. God reveals more as you obey more. If you are waiting to understand everything before you move, you may be waiting for the rest of your life.
Look at how God works throughout Scripture. He tells Abraham to go to a land He will show him, not a land He already described. He tells Joshua to march around the city for seven days with no explanation of how that will lead to victory. He tells Peter to step out of the boat onto the water without giving a physics lesson on how it will hold him. Over and over again, God gives just enough light for the next step, not the whole journey. Why? Because He is not trying to satisfy your curiosity. He is building your trust.
Obedience is the key to deeper revelation. Many people sit paralyzed at the edge of a decision, waiting for confirmation that will never come because they have not taken the first step. God often withholds further direction until you act on the direction He already gave. When you step out in faith, the fog begins to lift. As you walk forward, God shows you what you could not have seen from the starting line.
This is hard, especially for those of us who want to plan and analyze everything. But spiritual growth does not happen through control. It happens through surrender. You do not get to bypass obedience with strategy. You do not get to demand signs before you say yes. If God has spoken, your job is not to figure it all out. Your job is to follow.
If you are stuck right now, ask yourself this: Have you obeyed the last thing God asked of you? If not, why would He give you the next thing? Maybe the clarity you are begging for is hidden inside the obedience you have not yet offered.
Faith is not understanding and then moving. It is moving and then understanding. Take the step. Let Him show you more as you go.
