The Blessing of Reward
"In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will" – Ephesians 1:11
God never asks you to live for Him without promising that something is waiting on the other side. As Paul continues his letter to the Ephesians, he points to one final spiritual blessing from God the Son that must not be overlooked. It is the blessing of reward. Paul says we have received an inheritance in Christ, a future promise secured not by our performance but by God's purpose.
An inheritance is not something you earn. It is something you receive because of who you belong to. In Christ, you are part of God's family, and that means your inheritance has already been set aside. That truth should change how you live today. You are not just living for your present circumstances. You are living with a future that has already been written by the One who holds eternity.
But the reward is not only something you receive from Christ. Your life also becomes a reward for Christ. Paul is teaching us that our lives are a display of God's glory, evidence of His grace, and a reflection of His power. When you walk in obedience, the world sees the love and mercy of God through you. That is what it means to live for the praise of His glory. Your faithfulness becomes a light that points to the One who saved you.
The reward also begins right now. It shows up in peace that the world cannot explain, in joy that circumstances cannot steal, and in strength that shows up right when you thought you had none left. These are glimpses of what God has prepared for those who love Him.
When it is all said and done, there is still more. Jesus promised He was going to prepare a place. That means when the battle is over and the race is run, there will be a reward waiting from the One who saw every step. And when He hands it to you, He will not be surprised by your story. He was the one writing it all along.

What a great reminder that God will not be surprise by my story and that He was the one writing it all this time. Sometimes I get so down and hard on myself when I fall short but this is such a sweet reminder and blessing to know that God already knew I was going to slip up fall short and He still loves me and carrys me in spite of me.
