Never Canceled
“For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.” – Romans 11:29
If God has placed a calling on your life, no one else gets the final say about whether or not you can walk in it. People may try to slow you down. They may question your qualifications, criticize your approach, or even bring up your past to discredit you. But the truth is, they don’t have the authority to cancel what God has already established.
Throughout Scripture, we see examples of God calling people who, by human standards, should have never been chosen. Moses had a stutter. David committed a serious moral failure. Rahab had a past that people whispered about. Peter denied Jesus three times. Paul was a former persecutor of the church. Yet in every case, God’s calling on their life stood firm. Why? Because it wasn’t based on human approval. It was anchored in God’s sovereign choice.
When God calls you, it’s not a temporary contract that can be revoked if someone decides they no longer like you. Romans 11:29 reminds us that His gifts and calling are irrevocable. That means they cannot be taken away, even if the circumstances change or people walk away. God’s plan for your life is not up for public vote.
Sometimes we give too much power to people’s opinions. We hear one word of criticism and start doubting everything God said about us. We hit one obstacle and wonder if we misunderstood His voice. But you have to remember that opposition doesn’t mean you’re off track. In fact, it’s often a sign that you’re exactly where you need to be. The enemy doesn’t waste his time fighting someone who isn’t a threat.
If God has called you to it, He will equip you for it. That does not mean the path will be easy or that you won’t make mistakes along the way. But it does mean that no critic, no rival, no setback, and no season of struggle can erase the assignment God has placed on your life.
Walk boldly in that truth today. Stop asking for permission from people who didn’t give you your calling in the first place. Your confidence comes from the One who chose you, not from those who doubt you. If God called you, no one else can cancel you.
