Get Out of the Box
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind…” – Romans 12:2
You may not be able to fold yourself into a tiny glass box like a contortionist, but many people spend their lives doing something similar. They twist and bend themselves into shapes that were never meant for them, trying to fit into boxes that God never designed them for.
For some, it is the career box. A family expectation or cultural pressure pushed them into a job they never truly wanted. For others, it is the social box. Society paints a picture of success with the degree, the house, the car, the relationship, and the kids. Many spend years chasing that picture, even if it does not match what God placed in their heart. And for many, it is the religious box. Rules, appearances, and traditions take the place of a genuine relationship with God, leaving them feeling trapped rather than free in Christ.
Listen, God did not create you to live inside a mold designed by other people. You are not called to contort yourself into a life that contradicts the way He uniquely wired you. Scripture says, “Do not be conformed to this world,” and that applies to the world’s expectations, pressures, and boxes. God calls you to transformation, becoming who He designed you to be and not what others demand you to be.
Living inside the wrong box will drain your joy, frustrate your purpose, and suffocate your calling. But when you step out, when you decide to stop shaping your life around someone else’s design, you create space for God to shape you instead. That is when you begin to walk in the freedom and fulfillment He intended.
So ask yourself, am I living in the box God made for me, or in a box other people handed me? If it is the latter, it is time to stop twisting yourself to fit inside and start standing tall in the purpose God has for you.
You are not here to fit into someone else’s frame. You are here to live out the calling of the One who made you.
