Trust Beyond Yourself
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding." – Proverbs 3:5
It is natural to rely on what we know, what we can do, and what we can control. We measure situations by our skills, our resources, and our experience. But if we are honest, there are moments in life when what we have simply is not enough. Our abilities have limits, but God’s power does not.
Trusting in God more than in ourselves begins with acknowledging that we are not the source of our strength. The same God who calls you to live for Him is the God who equips you for what lies ahead. He is not asking you to figure it all out before you take the next step. He is asking you to lean on Him, depend on Him, and believe that His wisdom, timing, and resources will be enough.
When David faced Goliath, he did not put his trust in his own strength or skill. He trusted that the God who had delivered him from the lion and the bear would deliver him again. When Peter stepped out of the boat to walk on water, it was not his ability that kept him afloat. It was his trust in Jesus.
We limit ourselves when we only operate within what we think we can handle. But when we trust God more than our own abilities, we open the door for Him to work in ways we could never imagine. That trust shifts the pressure off our shoulders and places it into His capable hands.
If you are facing something that feels beyond your skill, strength, or knowledge, that might be the very proof that God is inviting you to rely on Him. Your abilities will only take you so far, but His power has no boundaries. Release the need to control every outcome and instead rest in the truth that the One who called you will also sustain you.
