Don’t Miss What’s Next
"Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?" – Isaiah 43:18-19
God has done some amazing things in your life. You’ve seen His hand provide, protect, and pull you through. You’ve experienced moments of worship that brought tears to your eyes. You’ve heard messages that shifted your thinking and felt His presence in ways you’ll never forget. But here’s the thing you need to hear today: as powerful as those moments were, God is not done. He is not just the God of what was. He is the God of what’s next.
It’s easy to hold on to a past encounter with God and miss the new thing He is trying to do right now. Sometimes we become so attached to the way He moved before that we overlook how He is trying to move today. We stay stuck in old methods, old memories, and old patterns because they were familiar and meaningful. But Isaiah reminds us not to cling too tightly to former things. God says He is doing a new thing, and the question is: can you see it?
The danger isn’t in remembering what God did. The danger is in worshiping the method instead of the message. God may not move in your life the exact same way twice, but that doesn’t mean He’s absent. It just means He’s growing you. He’s stretching your perspective. He’s preparing you for something greater than what you’ve already seen.
God’s glory is never about the preacher, the singer, or the atmosphere. It’s not about the platform, it’s about the presence. And His presence is always pulling you forward. There are still lives to reach, still territory to claim, still doors that need to be opened, and breakthroughs that are waiting. But you won’t see them if you’re still camped out at the last mountaintop.
Don’t miss what God is doing because you’re stuck on what He did. Let Him lead you forward. Let Him do the new thing. Because what’s ahead is not just different, it’s better.
