God Will Not Leave You Stuck
"The Lord said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters. I know their sufferings." - Exodus 3:7
Most people have heard the story of Moses and the burning bush. God calls Moses from the middle of the wilderness to lead the Israelites out of Egypt after 400 years of slavery. It is a powerful moment. But what is easy to miss is how impossible this calling must have felt to Moses.
God tells Moses that He has seen the suffering of His people and heard their cries. He promises to bring them into a land flowing with milk and honey. But to get there, Moses has to do something that terrifies him. He has to go stand before Pharaoh, the most powerful man in Egypt, and demand freedom for an entire nation.
Pharaoh’s response is predictable. Instead of letting the Israelites go, he makes life even harder. He increases their workload, pushes them to their limits, and tries to crush their spirits so they will give up. Pharaoh’s strategy is simple. If he can wear them down enough, they will stop dreaming of freedom. They will give up on change. They will settle for slavery.
But here is the good news. God was watching. God was not blind to their suffering. And God was not about to leave them stuck.
Maybe today you feel like you are in a similar place. You are praying for change, but the situation seems to be getting worse. You are asking God for a breakthrough, but you feel more burdened than ever. The temptation is to believe that nothing is happening. But just like with Israel, God sees you. God hears you. And God is already working on your behalf.
Do not give up because things feel stuck. Do not believe the lie that says your life will never change. God has not forgotten you. He is not intimidated by the obstacles in front of you. And just like He raised up Moses to lead Israel out, He is more than able to bring you through whatever you are facing.
