Marching With Purpose
"Shout! For the Lord has given you the city." - Joshua 6:16
When God gave Joshua the battle plan to take down Jericho, it wasn’t conventional. There was no strategy meeting, no war council, and no battle formations. Instead, God told them to march around the city once a day for six days, and on the seventh day, they were to march seven times and then shout.
Imagine how crazy that must have looked to the people inside the city walls. An army marching silently, day after day, without drawing a single weapon. It must have seemed foolish to the onlookers. But Joshua and the Israelites didn’t question God’s instructions. They didn’t need to understand it, they just needed to obey it.
When it comes to faith, there are times when God calls us to do things that don’t make sense to the world around us. There are seasons when your obedience will look strange to others. You might be marching in faith while everyone else is telling you to give up. You might be holding on to a promise while the situation seems impossible.
But when God gives the word, you have to keep marching. You have to keep moving forward, even when it feels pointless. Joshua didn’t know exactly how it would happen, he just knew that God promised victory. And when they obeyed, the walls came crashing down.
Sometimes, your breakthrough doesn’t come because you did something big and dramatic. Sometimes, it comes because you kept doing what God told you to do. You kept marching, kept praying, kept believing, and kept trusting that God was working even when you didn’t see it.
Whatever wall you’re facing right now, don’t stop marching. Don’t let the fear of looking foolish stop you from following through on what God has put on your heart. Keep your faith steady, keep your spirit strong, and keep moving forward. God has already given the victory, you just need to obey and keep marching.
