Trusting God to Make It Over
“For the Lord your God dried up the waters of the Jordan for you until you passed over, as the Lord your God did to the Red Sea, which he dried up for us until we passed over.” - Joshua 4:23
When the Israelites crossed the Jordan River, it wasn’t just about moving from one place to another. It was a testament to God’s faithfulness. Joshua made sure the people understood that their victory wasn’t just because of their efforts. It was because of God’s hand guiding them every step of the way.
God instructed them to set up twelve stones as a memorial. Stones that would serve as a testimony for future generations, proving that the only reason they made it through was because of Him. The miracle wasn’t just that they crossed the river. It was that they crossed it on dry ground. They made it over without any evidence of the struggle clinging to them. Only God can do that.
We all face situations that feel impossible. Times when the struggle feels overwhelming and making it through seems out of reach. But the truth is, God specializes in doing the impossible. He’s the one who turns weakness into strength, who turns setbacks into stepping stones and brings you through the fire without the smell of smoke.
Maybe you’re in a season where you feel stuck. The obstacles in front of you seem too big to overcome. But Joshua’s story reminds us that when God is leading the way, you can make it through what seems impossible. And you can come out of it without the scars of the struggle defining you.
Trusting God means believing that He can get you through even when everything around you says you won’t make it. It means stepping forward in faith even when you don’t see how it’s going to work out. And when you make it over, your story becomes a testimony that points others to Him.
Remember that your victory doesn’t depend on your strength alone. It depends on the God who goes before you. Trust Him. Lean on Him. And watch Him do what only He can do.
