Fighting For Freedom
"For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another." - Galatians 5:13
Freedom is a powerful thing. It’s something most of us enjoy and sometimes take for granted. But true freedom is never free. It always comes at a cost.
The truth is, any freedom you enjoy today, whether it’s freedom from sin, freedom from fear, or freedom from something you thought you’d never break free from, came from a fight. It required courage, sacrifice, and faith. And it’s not something you achieved alone. God’s faithfulness and the strength of those who supported you along the way made it possible.
When the Israelites crossed over the Jordan River, God instructed them to set up stones as a testimony of how He brought them through. Those stones were meant to remind future generations of the struggles, the sacrifices, and the faith that brought them into the Promised Land. It was a reminder that freedom is never just handed over. It’s fought for.
Maybe you’re in a battle right now. Maybe you’re struggling to break free from something that’s been holding you back for years. It could be addiction, doubt, fear, bitterness, or even insecurity. And the truth is, fighting for freedom is hard. It requires perseverance and faith when everything in you wants to give up.
But here’s the good news: God is with you in the fight. He sees your struggle. He knows the weight you carry. And He’s ready to give you the strength you need to overcome.
As you push forward, remember that your struggle has a purpose. The scars you bear are not signs of defeat. They’re signs of resilience and faith. They’re proof that you kept going when everything in you wanted to quit. And your story can be a testimony for others, showing them that freedom is possible no matter how impossible it seems.
I want to challenge you to choose to keep fighting for your freedom. Trust that God will honor your faithfulness. And when you make it over, be willing to share your story so others can find their way through the struggles they face.
