Praying With Expectation
"Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." - Mark 11:24
Hannah’s faith is powerful because it wasn’t just words. It was belief in action. When she went to the temple and poured her heart out before God, her pain was real, and her desperation was undeniable. But when Eli, the priest, misunderstood her passion and thought she was drunk, she didn’t let that stop her. She explained her situation, and when he spoke a word of encouragement, her faith took hold of it.
What’s incredible is that her situation didn’t change instantly. She didn’t leave the temple with a child in her arms. But her faith was so strong that as soon as she received a word of assurance, her entire outlook changed. She lifted her head, regained her appetite, and went to worship God. That’s the kind of faith that moves mountains.
Faith isn’t just about praying. It’s about believing that God will do what He said He would do, even before you see it happen. Hannah’s story teaches us that sometimes all you need is a word from the Lord to change your whole perspective.
When you truly believe God’s promises, it shows in how you live. It shows in how you praise, how you worship, and how you act after you pray. Faith isn’t just hoping something will happen, it’s having the confidence that God is already working things out on your behalf.
Maybe you’re in a season where your prayers seem to go unanswered. But real faith says, “I believe it’s on the way even when I can’t see it.” Like Hannah, choose to act on God’s Word. Worship Him even when your circumstances haven’t changed yet.
Today, choose to pray with expectation. Believe that God hears you and trust that He’s already moving, even when the answer hasn’t shown up yet.
