The Strength to Overcome
"I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart, I have overcome the world." - John 16:33
Life can feel overwhelming when it feels like everything is working against you. It’s easy to feel trapped, wondering how you’re ever going to make it over the mountain of stress, anxiety, and setbacks you face. Maybe you’re struggling with financial burdens that seem impossible to overcome. Maybe you feel stuck in a difficult relationship, or you’re battling with insecurity, depression, or the weight of responsibilities that just keep piling up.
Whatever mountain you’re facing, it’s real, and the struggle to climb it can be exhausting. But there’s something powerful about looking back and learning from those who have gone before us. When we read God’s Word and see how His people endured trials, pain, and rejection, we can be encouraged that victory is still possible. Their stories are filled with resilience and strength that didn’t come from themselves but from the God who empowered them.
The truth is that life has always been full of struggles and setbacks. But God’s faithfulness has always been bigger. What got those who came before us through their darkest days wasn’t their own strength or wisdom. It was their trust in a God who was stronger than their circumstances. The same God who brought them through is the same God who is walking with you now.
Don’t be overwhelmed by how steep the climb looks. Instead, take the time to learn from those who have trusted God through their hardest moments. His faithfulness is unchanging, and His strength is available to you right now. Whatever mountain you’re facing, know that with God’s help, you have the strength to overcome.
