Released by God
"So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed." - John 8:36
God does not just rename and redefine you—He releases you. He sets you free from the chains of your past, the weight of your mistakes, and the labels you have carried for too long. But the question is, will you walk in that freedom?
Jacob had spent his whole life bound by deception, fear, and the identity others placed on him. He was named trickster, and for years, he lived up to that name. But when he wrestled with God, everything changed. God did not just give him a new name, He released him from the old one. It was a moment of transformation, but it was also a moment of release.
Maybe you have been holding onto chains that God has already broken. You have been forgiven, but you still live in guilt. You have been called worthy, but you still feel unqualified. You have been set free, but you still act as if you are bound. The truth is, many people stay trapped, not because God has not released them, but because they refuse to walk in the freedom He has given them.
The enemy wants to convince you that you will always be who you were. That your past defines you. That your failures disqualify you. That your struggles will never end. But God is saying, I have already released you. You do not have to stay stuck in shame, regret, or fear. You do not have to carry burdens that He has already lifted.
But make no mistake about it, freedom requires faith. You have to believe that what God has done is final. You have to trust that when He calls you new, He means it. The prison door is open, but you have to walk through it.
God has renamed you. He has redefined you. And now, He is releasing you. Do not stay bound when He has set you free. Step forward. Walk in it. And never look back.
