Adopted Into God's Family
"He destined us for adoption as his children through Jesus Christ, according to the good pleasure of his will." - Ephesians 1:5
Have you ever experienced the deep sense of belonging that comes from being part of a loving family? God not only chose you before time began but also adopted you into His family through Jesus Christ. Adoption here isn’t just a legal act; it’s a profound expression of God’s love and desire to bring you close to Him.
Imagine being chosen by the highest authority, not out of necessity but out of sheer delight. God, in His infinite wisdom and love, didn’t just stop at choosing you; He went further and legally adopted you as His child. This means you have full access to all the rights, privileges, and blessings that come with being part of His family.
In human terms, adoption often happens to provide love, security, and a future to those who might otherwise be without. Spiritually, God’s adoption of us means He has taken us out of spiritual destitution and placed us securely in His loving care. No longer are we abandoned or left to fend for ourselves; we are now heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ.
God’s adoption process didn’t hinge on your past achievements or failures. It was purely based on His love and His desire to restore and redeem you. Just as earthly adoptive parents choose a child with intention and love, so God chose you to be part of His eternal family because He values you deeply.
When you feel rejected or unworthy, remember that God’s adoption of you was deliberate and purposeful. He didn’t just choose you because no one else was available; He chose you because He delights in you. Own your identity as a cherished member of God’s family today, knowing that His love and acceptance are forever yours.
