Divine Preparation: Four Ways God Readies Us for His Plans
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” - Ephesians 2:10
God has a unique plan for each of our lives, and He actively prepares us for the journey ahead. Here are four ways God readies us for His divine plans.
Through Trials: Trials are not meant to break us but to shape us. They refine our character, teach us perseverance, and help us grow in faith. As James 1:2-3 reminds us, the testing of our faith produces perseverance, preparing us for future challenges.
Through Waiting: Waiting periods are not idle times; they are times of preparation. As we wait on God, we learn patience, trust, and reliance on Him. These seasons of waiting equip us with the spiritual endurance needed for the journey ahead.
Through His Word: God’s Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalm 119:105). It guides us, corrects us, and equips us for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16-17). As we immerse ourselves in His Word, we gain wisdom and understanding so that we are prepared to walk the path He has set before us.
Through the Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit is our Helper who teaches us all things (John 14:26). He guides us into all truth (John 16:13) and equips us with spiritual gifts for service (1 Corinthians 12:4-7). Through the Holy Spirit, we are empowered and prepared for the work God has called us to do.
God is actively involved in preparing us for His plans. Whether through trials, waiting periods, His Word, or the Holy Spirit, He equips us for the journey ahead. So, let’s embrace these divine preparations with open hearts, trusting that He who began a good work in us will carry it out to completion until the day of Christ Jesus (Philippians 1:6).
