You Reap What You Sow
“Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” - Galatians 6:7-9
Over the past month, we have discussed obedience to God, what Godly success looks like, being consistent in our character, and giving no matter what we gain in return. Do you know what these things have in common?
When you do them, when you obey God, He rewards you. And as we have said many times over the last month, God’s rewards are always greater than the initial sacrifice you had to make. This is the concept we know as “you reap what you sow.” The blessings are not always material. But we will receive a spiritual blessing, nonetheless.
The famous quote goes, “You always reap what you sow. You reap later than you sow, and you reap more than you sow.” That is not just a quote, but it is also biblical. Galatians 6:7-9 gives us a better understanding of this. It says,
“Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”
When you sow seeds of obedience, God blesses you. It really is that simple. What seeds are you sowing that you will reap down the road?
