Update Your Operating System
“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in Him, rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.” - Colossians 2:6-7
Have you updated your operating system recently? You say, “Pastor what do you mean?” Like most of you, I have a smartphone. And not too long ago, I was getting frustrated because it started to crash.
Whenever I would try to run certain apps, it would drain the battery very quickly. I got frustrated and started to get mad at the phone. I took it to the store and the guy said there was nothing wrong with my phone.
He said the problem was that I needed to update my operating system. Apparently, I was trying to run current apps on yesterday’s operating system. Every so often, if you have a smartphone, you’ll get a message saying that it’s time for an update.
The point of the update is to ensure that the device is functioning at its optimal level and to ensure that apps and software are bug-free. If you try to run apps on the old operating system, the phone might crash, the software might malfunction, and you might open yourself up to a virus.
And the problem is there are a lot of people with updated phones but with downgraded lives. There are people who have capabilities they don’t even realize, but they just won’t get the update.
Are you one of these people? When is the last time you upgraded your operating system? God can do so much more with your “software,” but first, you need an update. God wants us to continue to grow. We should never become stagnant in our faith.
If you want God to upgrade your life, it starts with updating your operating system.
