Spiritual Gifts
““We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.” – Romans 12:6-9
Yesterday, we talked about the word “success.” It is a word that everyone values. Everyone, no matter who they are, wants to be successful in their lives. And the important thing to recognize is that true success comes from living in accordance with the will of God.
One writer once asked the question, “What is the benefit of running if you are on the wrong road?” Just because you are “running” does not mean that you are successful. There are a lot of busy people who aren’t successful. Why? Because what God deems successful, being obedient to His calling, is different than what the world deems successful.
As children of God, we each have a different role to play in God’s Kingdom. God has purposed each of us to contribute to this world in a way only we can as unique individuals.
Romans 12: 6-9 explains is more clearly, “We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.”
If you want to be successful, make sure you recognize where true success comes from and pray to God to help you discover where your gifting lies so that you can trying find purpose on earch.
