Determining Your Future
“The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in Him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with His hand.” - Psalm 37:23-24
If you want to end the current chapter of your life and begin a new one, you need to shift your mind. You need to first, refocus your attention. Focus on what God can do for you and not what has already happened to you. Then, you need to understand that God is your defense. As you remain obedient to Him, He will protect you against your enemies.
Refocus your attention, understand that God is your defense, but also understand that it is God who determines your future. It is great to want a better life. It is great to want to turn from your old, wicked ways and walk in obedience to God.
But make no mistake about it, you do not determine your path. God does. The reason you must refocus your attention on Him is because He is the one that orders your steps. God has a special plan and purpose for your life. It is a plan that only you can live out. It is your destiny. When you let go of the chapter you are currently in and decide to walk into the chapter God has planned for you, your life will change.

The verdict of your future is not determined by the pain people in your past caused you. Only God can decide what He has in store for you. Let Him refocus your attention, be your defense, and determine your future.
