He is Not Slow
“The Lord is not slow to fulfill His promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.” - 2 Peter 3:9
Does it feel like God taking too long to deliver on His promise to you? Have you been waiting for what seems like forever and now you’re just like, “I know I have to wait, but I am losing steam. I don’t know if He is going to do what He said He would do.”
If you ever found yourself with this thought, maybe you even have this thought right now, I have some encouraging words for you today. God is not slow to fulfill the promise He has given to you.
2 Peter 3:9 says, “The Lord is not slow to fulfill His promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.”
He is making sure that everything is perfect. You’ve probably heard the phrase, “good things take time.” And that is true of God. Though He can snap His fingers and do whatever He wants, some things require a wait.
What you are waiting on might involve other people. It might involve another situation to change. Someone might have to go through something before they find their way to you. Or God might be changing YOU while you are waiting.
There are a number of reasons why God might not be fulfilling His promise yet, but that does not mean He won’t do it. Every word from the Lord is true. We know that He will do what He says He will do. He is the God that keeps His promises.
He is not too slow. Your promise just takes time. I want to encourage you and remind you that while you are waiting, God is working. Don’t mistake your waiting for wasted time. God will use your waiting period to grow your faith, as well as orchestrate the circumstances, situations, and people around you.
God is not slow. He is getting everything ready to fulfill His promise beyond what you are even hoping for!
