Waiting With Expectation
“I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living!” - Psalm 27:13
Over the last week, we have talked about HOPE. Hope is the lifeblood of our lives. There is a quote that says, “Man can live about forty days without food, about three days without water, about eight minutes without air, but you can’t live a second without HOPE.”
Without hope, what do we have? What are we looking towards? Hope is what guides our future. The hope for what is to come…it is not a worldly hope. It is not wishful thinking. It is a Godly hope that is waiting EXPECTANTLY for God to deliver on His promises.
The Bible is full of promises. If you read it long enough and ask God to reveal His heart to you, He will reveal to you His promises. These are promises that are specific to you, your life, and your circumstances.
It might not look in the moment like God is working, but when He gives you a promise, you can have hope and wait expectantly, knowing He will do exactly as He said He would do. Psalm 27:13 says, “I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living!”
Are you waiting on a promise from God? Has God given you a promise? If not, it’s time to meditate on His Word. When you chase and pursue God, He will reveal promises to you. And you can know that He will fulfill every word He utters.
He is the God of promises, and He will fulfill the promises He has revealed to you. If you are still waiting on a promise from God, don’t just wait wishfully. God wants you to wait expectantly, as if you already have what He has promised you. That, my friend, is godly hope!
