Unfinished
“And I am sure of this, that He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” - Philippians 1:6
Are you still hopeful in the midst of your storm? Sometimes, life just hits hard. It doesn’t matter who you are, whether you are a believer or nonbeliever, life just comes out of nowhere and will knock you off your feet.
There is a quote from the famous movie character, Rocky Balboa, in which Rocky was talking to his son. The quote has been used in motivational videos and social media posts all over the world. Rocky’s son was complaining about his circumstances.
Rocky responded and said, “It ain’t about how hard you’re hit, it’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done!”
Rocky was talking about life and how hard life hits us. But you know what? No matter how hard it hits, do you know why you can get back up? Because you can have HOPE that the story is unfinished.
Philippians 1:6 says, “And I am sure of this, that He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.”
Did you catch that? That is a promise from God that He isn’t finished writing your story and that He will complete the good work He started in you.
We have spent the last few days talking about hope, and today’s takeaway applies to that conversation perfectly. Do you know why you can have hope, today? Because your story is unfinished. No matter what chapter you are currently in, whether it is good, bad, or awful, you can have hope that God is still working on your unfinished story. He who started a good work in you will bring it to completion!
