You Don’t Need Permission
“Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” - Isaiah 43:18-19
Over the last few days, we have talked about bouncing back and moving forward when heartache, pain, or loss overtake us. The good news is that you do not have to be in pain forever. I am not insinuating that you should not go through the grieving process when difficult times come your way. Nor do I want you to fake your feelings.
You should not discount your emotions and feelings about the hard times life throws at you. But after a time of grieving, it’s time to move forward. Oftentimes, we are waiting on God to move when He is waiting on us to move.
He is ready to heal us. We just have to get up. But there is something you must know; you don’t need permission to get up and move forward. Sometimes we can think “it’s too fast. Or we ask, “What will they think of me after all that’s happened if I move on?”
The truth is, “they” and their opinions, don’t matter. You do not need anyone’s permission to heal. “They” did not go through what you went through. “They” do not know what you feel or how this has affected you. “They” don’t even need an explanation.
Healing requires forward motion. You took an loss, but now it’s time to bounce back.
Are you ready to move forward? God is ready. You can do it. And you can do it, today! Don’t wait for anyone’s permission. You don’t owe them anything, but you owe God everything. Remember whose timeline you really want to follow.
