Thank Him
"Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” - 1 Thessalonians 5:18
Have you ever been to a large gathering where the host(s) cooked the food, got the house ready for the guests, and maybe even had games or fun events prepared for everyone to play? They put on this amazing event, and at the end when it came time to leave, there was that one person who packed up and left, who offered no assistance, no thanks, they just left.
This person just walked out of the home, fed and entertained, without considering all the work that it took to prepare for the event. This can feel disrespectful. It can leave the hosts and guests in disbelief that a person could see all that was done for them and just brush it off.
Unfortunately, as difficult as it is to be on the receiving end, there are times when we have been the ones who have failed to give thanks—sometimes with other people and oftentimes with God. He wakes us up every day, He makes sure our needs are fulfilled and we often ignore those things or even complain because we don’t have the one thing that we desire in the moment.
1 Thessalonians encourages us to “give thanks in ALL circumstances.” Whether the day is sunny or rainy, we can always show gratitude. Take some time today to thank God for all that He has done in your life.
