The Shoulders on Which We Stand
“I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” - John 16:33
As we continue to discuss the value in telling our stories, over the next few days, I want to highlight a few reasons why you should share your life story—even the bad and the ugly.
The first reason is as a reminder of the shoulders on which you stand. Someone is watching over you, and that someone is your Heavenly Father.
You will face difficult times, but God is guiding you, protecting you, and leading you forward.
John 16:33 reminds us of the tough times we will face in life. But we can be encouraged because it says, “I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”
There is no condemnation that will have dominion over you because God has already overcome the world. Satan’s powers can not keep you captive, so there is nothing to fear.
God knows what you are going through, and He will sustain you. Your story is a symbol of resiliency. Your story is living, breathing proof that you have made it through. And you have done so standing on the shoulders of Jesus Christ!
