All Things New
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” - Isaiah 43:18-19
Can you believe that we have made it to the end of another year and the start of a new one! The new year is a time for many people to push the reset button and make a change in themselves, to refrain from an old habit or to start something new. It is a time for self-improvement and self-reflection.
I once saw a New Year’s poem that read, “I am the New Year. I am an unspoiled page in your book of time. I am your next chance at the art of living. I am your opportunity to practice what you have learned about life during the last twelve months.
All that you sought and didn’t find is hidden in me, waiting for you to search it but with more determination. All the good that you tried for and didn’t achieve is mine to grant when you have fewer conflicting desires.
All that you dreamed but didn’t dare to do, all that you hoped but did not will, all the faith that you claimed but did not have—these slumber lightly, waiting to be awakened by the touch of a strong purpose. I am your opportunity to renew your allegiance to Him who said, “Behold, I make all things new.”
What are your new year resolutions? You do not even need to wait until the new year. You can make a positive change anytime in your life. With God’s guidance, those former things that no longer serve you will be left in the past and you will receive a new anointing, new blessings, and new mercies for each day you awake. Happy New Year!
