Against You
“While the wicked slander me and tell lies about me. They surround me with hateful words and fight against me for no reason. I love them, but they try to destroy me with accusations even as I am praying for them! They repay evil for good, and hatred for my love.” - Psalm 109:2-5
Who is against you? Who are your “haters?” If you are making a difference for the Kingdom of God, you will have those who oppose you. There is a quote that says, “If you don’t have haters, you aren’t doing anything worth hating on.”
The truth is, if you are making an impact and doing real work for the Kingdom of God, you will have enemies. There will be people who oppose your beliefs, who do not like your actions, or sadly, who just don’t like you.
They might not even have a valid reason. Psalm 109:2-5 says, “For the the wicked slander me and tell lies about me. They surround me with hateful words and fight against me for no reason. I love them, but they try to destroy me with accusations even as I am praying for them! They repay evil for good, and hatred for my love.”
It is impossible to go through this life and not have enemies. There will be people who are against you. Some will just be on the sidelines watching and waiting for you to fail, and some may actually try and stop you. But what you should know is that when you are faithfully doing the work of God and living out His will, you are blessed.
When you are obedient to God, He assumes full responsibility for ensuring your safety. You cannot fail when you are obedient to God. That is His promise. No enemy will overcome you when you remain faithful to Him.
I know it can be difficult to stand in the face of opposition. Most people want to be accepted and valued. We don’t want enemies. But that is just part of the journey. Let God take care of your enemies. When you are obedient to Him, no one standing against you will succeed.
