Recipe For a Miracle
“O Lord, answer me! Answer me so these people will know that you, O Lord, are God and that you have brought them back to yourself. Immediately the fire of the Lord flashed down from heaven and burned up the young bull, the wood, the stones, and the dust. It even licked up all the water in the trench!” - 1 Kings 18:37-38
What is the recipe for a miracle? There are only two key ingredients. God’s power and your faith. That’s it. If you want God to do something special in your life, something you cannot do on your own, that is how it happens.
If you are looking for a miracle, you’ve come to the right place. The power is not in the words on this page, the power is in the faith within your heart. We see this in 1 Kings 18 when Elijah called out to God at the contest on Mount Carmel.
Here, Elijah challenges those following Baal. He says let's call out to our gods and see who answers. They went first...Baal didn’t answer.
Then, 1 Kings 18:37-38 says, “O Lord, answer me! Answer me so these people will know that you, O Lord, are God and that you have brought them back to yourself. Immediately the fire of the Lord flashed down from heaven and burned up the young bull, the wood, the stones, and the dust. It even licked up all the water in the trench!”
God answered Elijah’s request. He showed up that day and performed a miracle. Why? Because His power was met with Elijah’s faith. Elijah didn’t just call out some hopeless prayer. He didn’t just call out without believing in whom He was calling out to. Elijah trusted that God would come through for Him. And we serve a living God who listens when we speak.
The question is, do you trust whom you are calling out to? If you want to find the recipe for a miracle, it is very simple. God’s power and your faith. That’s all it takes! You must do your part. No matter how long it takes, keep the faith!
