Just The Right Time
“For God says, at just the right time, I heard you. On the day of salvation, I helped you. Indeed, the ‘right time’ is now. Today is the day of salvation.” - 2 Corinthians 6:2
Did you know that it takes sweet cherry trees 7-10 years to start producing fruit when grown from a seed? It needs daily sun, 1,100 to 1,300 hours in temperatures under 45 degrees Fahrenheit to break dormancy, pollination, pruning, and adequate water and fertilizer to ultimately obtain that firm texture and candy-like flavor. The timing must be right or the fruit will not be ripe.
To God, our lives are like that sweet cherry tree. God takes His time to make sure we have just the right conditions to produce the best spiritual fruit. Those conditions may be sunny, or they may be chilling. Certain times may require rest and other times may require work. But the end result is always beautiful because it is a reflection of success through endurance.
Maybe you were laid off from work, or you are dealing with a divorce. Maybe you learned someone you loved passed away way too early, or maybe there are bills to pay and you can’t pay them. Whatever the circumstances may be, there are times when life hits, and it hits hard.
These are all periods of growth, not because God is trying to punish us, but because God is trying to build us. And maybe you are saying, “Pastor, I know I need to trust God. I know God can help me, but I just can’t do this much longer, I don’t know when this season is going to end...”
Maybe you have been in this season for a long time. Maybe it’s been weeks...or months...or YEARS, and you just feel like you can’t go much longer. I want you to know, your time is coming. God is not deaf to your prayers nor your tears. You are just in your incubation season.
Now is not the time to give up. God wants you to know that your time is coming. 2 Corinthians 6:2 says, “For God says, at just the right time, I heard you. On the day of salvation, I helped you. Indeed, the ‘right time’ is now. Today is the day of salvation.”
I know this season may be hard. This season may be long. But just keep going. You are almost there. Keep trusting Him. And change will manifest at just the right time!
