Staying Focused
“Therefore, holy brothers, partners in a heavenly calling, keep your focus on Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession.” - Hebrews 3:1
Did you know that some animal tamers have been known to carry a stool in the cage of lion as a form of distraction. Why? Because lions can only focus on one object. When the tamer points the four legs of the stool at the lion, he or she is paralyzed, not being able to focus on all four legs at once.
We too can become paralyzed trying to focus on too many things at once. We focus on our problems instead of the problem-solver. Instead of spending time with the Lord, whether in prayer, Scripture reading, or through a message at church, we begin to lose focus. We get caught up in the world and our worries; and we even start taking advice from ungodly counsel.
If you want to change your outlook, you must STAY FOCUSED. The Lord will speak to you, but you must remember what He tells you. Meditate on it, think about it in your free time, and pray about it. Keep it at the forefront of your thoughts so that you do not forget it.
If you want to change your circumstances, change your outlook. If you want to change your outlook, go to God. And when God speaks, remain focused on what He tells you! This is how you can find true healing and move forward from unhealthy thoughts and actions. It all starts with staying focused on Him.
