Your Outlook Can Change Your Outcome
“I lift my eyes to you, O God, enthroned in heaven.” - Psalm 123:1
There was a study done several years ago aimed at finding similar qualities in highly successful people. They were looking at people in all different fields from athletes, to musicians and artists, to top company CEOs. There was a wide variety of candidates they studied. What they found was quite interesting.
The study concluded that there was no “one trait” as far as personality or life experience that these highly successful individuals all shared. However, they did find ONE THING almost all of these individuals had in common. It wasn’t their upbringing or how they were raised. It wasn’t their genetic makeup or personality type.
What was consistent was their outlook. Highly successful people do not view themselves as the victim of their circumstances. They do not look at how they are destined for failure; but instead, they look at the opportunities they have within their situations.
Perhaps the outcome you are wanting is on the other side of a change in outlook. You might be in a season of disappointment. Your life may not be where you want it to be. But that is only this season. Your life is filled with different seasons. Seasons of mountain highs and valley lows. If you want the next season to be different from this season, the answer might be in your outlook.
God does not desire for you to live in a state of disappointment or discouragement. He may have allowed your circumstances to lead you where you are, but that does not mean you have to stay there. It all starts with a mental shift. Change your outlook. Trust that God will change your life and allow Him to show you how He wants that change to take place.
If you aren’t looking in the right direction, you might just miss it.
