Faith Passport
“Since you call on a Father who judges each person’s work impartially, live out your time as foreigners here in reverent fear. For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.” – 1 Peter 1:17-19
When you enter a foreign land, you must have a passport. This passport shares who you are and whom you belong to. As believers in Christ, our passport is stamped as belonging to Christ. Peter tells us in our focal verse that we are foreigners in this land. For earthly things are perishable and our true home lives with Christ.
We have access to God’s glory, God’s power, and God’s provision. Our identity is in Him. It is in Him that we live, we move, and we have our being. In and of ourselves, we cannot accomplish anything, but in Him, we can do all things. Philippians 4:13 tells us this when it says, “For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.”
Regardless of where you find yourself in life, if you are able to present your faith passport, your spiritual credentials in Christ, you will be able to gain access to privileges that you could not obtain otherwise.
Apart from God, you are stuck at the border, hoping that a mediator will vouch for your identity. With Christ, you have full entry.
Who are you? You are His. And when you realize that you can experience the life you were meant to live. One of joy, peace, and security.
Only then can you fully live the life Jesus designed for you. When you recognize who holds your identity, you can live out the will of God. And that will is the greatest life you can have. But to get there, you must have proof of your identity. Do you have your faith passport?
